Black Lives Matter

PRONTO International stands in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement in campaigning against violence and systemic racism towards Black people; calling for an end to police brutality; and asking for justice for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and the tragically long list of Black people who have been unjustly killed, injured, and traumatized at the hands of law enforcement. PRONTO International and each person employed by PRONTO acknowledge that we must be accountable for changing ourselves and the power structures that have oppressed Black people for far too long. As individuals and as a health organization, we recognize racism as not only a human rights issue but a public health issue. The health disparities that Black communities experience every day are a direct result of the deep, devastating roots of racism in the United States. As we listen, learn, and change, we want to start by sharing Black-led organizations that advocate for and work with Black mothers for birth justice in the United States. We hope you will join us in learning from and supporting the important and urgent work being done by these organizations.
