PRONTO Welcomes Regional Director for East Africa

PRONTO International is pleased to welcome our longtime colleague and PRONTO Master Trainer, Dr. Minnie Kibore, to the team as the Regional Director for East Africa. Dr. Kibore is a pediatrician and public health specialist with over 12 years’ experience working in pediatric health care and maternal neonatal and child health research and programs. She received her medical qualifications from the University of Nairobi, Kenya and her Master’s in Public Health from the University of Washington, Seattle, USA.

Dr. Kibore has been associated with PRONTO International since 2012 when PRONTO conducted its first training in Kenya in collaboration with the University of Nairobi/University of Washington partnership. Since then Dr. Kibore has been instrumental in the growth of PRONTO in Kenya and the East African region, initially as a master trainer and program coordinator and now in her role as the Regional Director for East Africa. She has provided technical support for PRONTO interventions throughout the East African region including the “Linda Afya ya Mama na Mtoto” initiative in Western Kenya (2012-2015) and the Preterm Birth Initiative in Kenya and Uganda (2016- date). Dr. Kibore was also the co-principle investigator and project director of a USAID funded project that sought to improve facility-based early neonatal outcomes through PRONTO training (2014-2017) and is currently the principal investigator of an Evidence-to-Action grant that aims to integrate PRONTO training into reproductive health programming in Kenya.

We hope you will join us in welcoming Dr. Kibore to her new role with PRONTO!
